It's a Girl!!

Hey y'all!
Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to have a daughter!

Yesterday was the big anatomy scan and everything looks kosher as far as her development goes-no tails or webbed fingers or anything out of the ordinary.   She's perfect.  And active as all get out.  But let me back up and start at the beginning.

Waiting for this ultrasound was unlike anything I've ever experienced.  The anticipation was intense to say the least.  Steve and I both woke up multiple times the night before and both had a night full of really weird dreams.  Mine were more along the lines of Steve's friend Jason having to go in and have the ultrasound for me (which resulted in him telling me we're having a girl-hola!).  And Steve's being more of the 'I was a wizard and had to cut off a horse's head' type of genre.  Don't think about it too much.

Yawns!
Anyways, I've been feeling these teeny, tiny kicks to my stomach and luckily they aren't freaking me out as much as I had anticipated.  It's actually kind of neat and reassuring to know she's in there.  And she wasn't afraid to show us how she can kick, because she did so throughout the entire scan.  Kicking me, waving her arms up and down, turning here, twisting there--she was on the move alright (as you'll see below!).

As for us, it's starting to sink in that we're not only having a baby, but we're having a baby girl.  When I hear Steve telling someone or talking about it he says "We're having a little girl."  Which tells me this little girl is going to have him wrapped around her little finger right quick :)  It's going to be so freaking cute I can't stand it.

Next week I'll officially be at the halfway point of this pregnancy!  20 more weeks and we'll finally get to meet this little one!  Until then, enjoy the video below!

P.S. Thanks to Jodi for all of her help in getting this video from a DVD to this blog.  I still believe magic makes the Internet work, which can make me a bit technologically disabled.

The cutest thing I ever did see.

Last night we came home to a card from Steve's mom.  Inside was a copy of a song Steven made up for one of his sister Jeni's friends.  Steven sang it and his mom and sister were smart to write it down so that 30 years later we all could enjoy.

"Steven's First Song for Jana that's ever been written"

How do you do Partner?
I wish you loved me,
so you'd eat my pie, and my whole cake.

What would it take
to make you love me?
Must I grow up,
won't you wait for me?

Now it's time to say good-bye,
and maybe you could stay awhile longer,
and maybe we could play a game.
And maybe then you could read me a story,
and we could shut off the lights and watch t.v.

Then maybe we could eat some muffins,
and put on some butter and a little jam.
Then maybe we could go to the store
to see if they had some candy or candy bars.
Then maybe we could go someplace and eat.
